Reducing your scent before and while hunting!!!

Re: Reducing your scent before and while hunting!! oh yeah i dont doubt some of it is from bacteria, but think of all the things you come in contact with. i wash down or use scent blocker wipes every time before i go out, but that isnt going to do jack for the stuff you're touching on your way...

    Land Prices

My family owns a lumber/logging business and does some work in buying/selling properties so I guess i know a bit about this. The reason timbered land values are down is probably due to the poor housing market. Because of the huge mess people got into with subprime lending and the housing...

Reducing your scent before and while hunting!!!

this guy sounds vaguely similar to another "TRMichels" on huntingnet.com that was raising hell about charcoal suits and pushing the anti-bacterial stuff hard. That "TRMichels" turned out not to be the real one. just a heads up guys and as a side note, i dont buy into the whole bacterial thing...

    Hunting Area Pics

that looks like a killer rut set. I might have to take some pics when i hang the last of my stands, but its tough; I have 17 sets up right now and probably 3 or 4 going up this weekend for some back up spots on our 640 acre farm.

    Trespassers

We're in the same boat. We leased a farm about 45 mins from my house and the locals around there ruined our gun season. They were tresspassing on opening morning and claiming they had permission and one guy even called the landowner a few weeks ago saying my dad's timber company that logged it...

    Two Part Tags

yeah i was thinking more off the top of my head and realized after i posted it that it really wouldnt change the cheaters, since they're already pretty well set in their ways. the more i think about it, its really an enforcement issue. Maybe it's just because I dont hear about it or its not...

    Two Part Tags

Ok, it's an improvement over the old system, but honestly, iowa's system of reporting is pretty crappy. you can't get accurate counts with this system. i know of too many people who cheat the system, dont report deer, etc because the DNR isnt there for enforcement. What's wrong with just copying...

    Role Call.....whose got 'em

our farm in Clayton/Allamakee county has a pretty good sized creek running through it, it dumps into the yellow river just off our property and that hits the Miss a mile downstream. So it sees a lot of water. 3 weeks or so ago when we got 8 inches the place looked like the moon from all the...

    Rut Predictions

i dont really buy into the whole moon stuff, the rut is triggered by decreasing light levels, not all this moon hocus pocus. regardless of hte moon, you're probably money if you're hunting nov. 5-12. should be peak rutting conditions in iowa judging by past experience
