Apparently the big 8 I had heard about was shot around the DeWitt, Iowa area. Not sure of how legitimate that information is, or what the odds of two great big 8 pointers being shot on the same weekend like that are......

Finally got some proof of this buck...supposedly this was the giant 8 that was killed. Haven't been able to see harvest photos...

That's a pig!! Holy cow...The mass on him is unreal! Just spoke with a friend and said another 170" 8 pointer was for sure killed in Eastern Iowa. Can't get ahold of a picture though...what are the odds of two bucks that big and identical being killed the same weekend....urrgh....

Damn, was the one in Illinois with a bow? I thought an 8 that scored 150 was huge.... Still would love to know if there's any truth to the Big 8 I heard about this weekend...

If you've had an 870 for years now why not stay with Remington? I would recommend the 1187. I've had one for years now and have never had any problems. My dad has had his for 20+ years and its still shooting like it just came out of the box. VERY reliable with a very good price in my mind...

I agree 1000000% with this statement. I know that in our parts in eastern central Iowa the herd is thinning, and thinning dangerously fast. 4-5 years ago we were use to seeing 10-15 deer a night bowhunting, and that would just be an average night. Now, if we see that many deer in a whole day...
