    Recon Cams

I use one Talon, probably 3 years old. Likes: IR flash, good battery life, good B&W pics, good info on pics(location temp, date, time etc.), easy to set-up and use, uses CF memory cards. Dislikes: not really quick triggering=use bait to stop them, it has been back for repairs twice-first...

    Deer remains, disposale

You better not wait too long or your yote bait will be long gone. With the harvest being slow this year, I left the remains in a filter strip I could get into from the road. I would usually like to put it on and inside fence line where I could see if a yote was snacking on it. I'll look for...

    Stolen stand issue, opinion

[ QUOTE ] You don't want the land owner to think that people are fighting over his land, then he may not let anyone on it. [/ QUOTE ] I would press the owner once more to see if he knows of anyone who else might think they could hunt there, this same situation happen right around me and...

    Casio hunting watches

Well, I'm on the gaget bandwagon, $37.86 at Wally in LeMars. I will probably spend all afternoon playing with it. For me, I didn't have a wrist watch, this will be easlier than pulling out the cell phone for the time. The sunrise and sunset feature will be used by me more so than the moon...

    Dad's new toy

Are they street legal? What is top speed? Not much ground clearance but if you don't already have a pick-up they should get the job done.

    Early Season Scents

I will be waiting 2 more weeks, a little pre-rut should be on it's way then. I'll get the decoy out with a little dom. buck urine on it, rattle the horns and wait for the show to start!! Hopefully some of this corn will be gone, all the beans at least. I'll wait until at least the last weekend...

    What a Idiot

He is just looking to get some attention by ruffling feathers. He might just get some if he isn't careful. Someone might mistake his car for a gut pile disposal receptacle. Don't do that please, but it would be funny! He just never had someone to show him how it should be done. Isn't...

    Hazelnut harvest

I planted 50 seedlings this year and they all made it. I planted a row with rotating 6 hazelnuts then 6 service berrys(june berrys). The deer ate most of the service berry leaves off and left the hazels alone. The hazels sure had extensive root systems compared to the service berry plants...

    19pt taken in Cedar county

[ QUOTE ] The ONLY reason anyone objects to youth season is out of pure selfishness, nothing else. [/ QUOTE ] I agree, congtrats to the kids, I hope the parents are letting them do the parts of the hunt they are capable of. Each year they will be more and more capable of doing...

    fencing off tree's

The bucks started on my largest first year oaks and 2nd year wild plums about 3 weeks ago. I saw a thread here (somewhere-by dbltree)where the pics showed the woven wire individually around the trees. A 14 foot piece makes a good sized hoop that should even keep the deer from eating the tops...
