    2009 Boone and Crockett!!

Except its not a whitetail..... I know. Long time since i have had time to post, I have been reading lots of the stories here though. Since it's not a whitetail I will keep it short. Some of the video guys here knew we were heading to the arctic to bowhunt Muskox with Adventure Northwest...

    Whitetail Video Teaser...of sorts.

Thought I'd post something for those of us going through a little bout of withdrawal. Just a small project I have been working on, only a 22 second vid, figured best to save the big fellows for later when it's done. If you watch close at the :18 second mark, in the back, you can see one of the...

    When??

I hope to make the trek down to Iowa to chase a whitey with my bow in 2009 if I draw. It's hit or miss if I draw in 2009, and if not, I should in 2010 but, what's your guys expert opinion on when to go? Early season patternable>? Low pressure Ocotober, rutting november? I need to do more...

    Bowhunting Canada

Sask, Lots of pressure....for us anyway. And it depends where/when. and it depends what lots of pressure is. On each 160 acre peice of land theres likely a hunter, but not every day. Archery season, theres quite a few guys out, but rarely see someone. Remeber we have 3 times the land mass and...

    Saskguy/Saskbowhunter?

I was sure that light was coming straight for me!!! I thought, holy $*%() they must have spotted the big one on the property from way up there!! I have to deal with the road rockets daily, but alien poachers would have been a new one for me.

An embaressing moment, but a lesson learned.

I had a few chilly November mornings where after 4 or 5 hours she was hard to turn over...But back then for some reason I seemed to feel the need to pull 86lbs. Finally got smart and dumped it down to 68-70 and no worries...Shoulder feels better too. Most dudes shoot whitetails at 35yds and...

Life and Times of a BIG Saskatchewan Whitetail...

Re: Life and Times of a BIG Saskatchewan Whitetail Whitetails is an addiction we all share. Harvesting them myself always is not my primary objective. I feel honered to have spent the time over the years watching him. To be honest, when I think back at old spike for years to come, the actual...

Life and Times of a BIG Saskatchewan Whitetail...

Spring 2002 a young buck fawn was born. Little did I know how well I would get to know him over the next 6 and a half years. In the fall of 2003 he sported a very small 4x4 rack, but for a 1.5 yr old he was very impressive. He was seen often, and filmed in the fields with the bigger deer, and...

    Fowler Question.

T-250, I dont know about the boat, but 1.25 is steep, real steep. You could arrange it far less.

Is it legal to use dogs to find wounded/lost deer?

It's a no no here in Sask, and its really too bad...Im sure there is a big percentage of lost game that could have been recovered.

    Can't Find Him...

Re: Need Some Help Absolutly, if theres even a hint of doubt, back out! With a marginal shot, or one lung, he can live for hours, and pushed thats enough time for him to dang near make it up to my neck of the woods. if you broke open his body cavity, hes a dead jumper. A great blood trail is...

    Penetration or Cut??

Not saying they wont kill one, but there is a reason they are being banned at a rapid rate. Ive seen mechanicals fail 2 outta 3 times, miserablly. Personally, after harvesting 2 deer I would not yet have an abundence of confidence in anything, wait till you hit a little to close to the...

    Penetration or Cut??

When that buck of a ligfe time walks in, I aint taking no chances on unreliable mechanical heads. The best solution in my opinon, tune your bow properly so fixed heads fly great, hit them in the 10 spot, and it doesnt matter if you get a pass through or 5 inches of penetration, he;s dead in...

    Food plots vs. Bait piles

I've heard this argument several times, and just can't get convinced that its different. If your planting for $$ not for deer hunting, thats not baiting, or a food plot, its called farming. Mature deer @ a bait never happens? I know of....at least 4 200" deer killed @ baits in recent years...
