12ga, WAY more options available than a 16ga.

I hunt with my 30-06, but will keep a 30-30, 32 Win Special, and/or 35 Rem lever-action around for nostalgia. Ballistically speaking, there is no comparison past 100 yards.

I've been shooting one for five years now, and I love it. Mine's a 12ga, but I hear the 20ga models are becoming more popular because they're lighter. The 12ga model is heavy, but that soaks up a lot of recoil too.

I harvested this nice 8-pointer during the first shotgun season. He has a 20 6/8" inside spread.
