I've always left it loose, shouldered the gun on a rest, and adjusted for eye relief before tightening down. Don't know if that's right but it works for me.

The thread about bh209 and 777 has brought up a question. I currently shoot 777 pellets at 150gr a pop. I do so because I have the Nikon Omega scope with BDC reticle. I also shoot a 250gr bullet because the scope calls for it. Would you think I could use bh209 at 120gr and archive the same...

Looking for suggestions on ladder stand locks. I've used chains and cables but keep getting stands stolen. I'd like to figure something out to keep people from being able to climb up the ladder.

For the second time this week I have had a shooter walk in on me setting up in my stand. Both times were within minutes of me climbing and both caught me off guard.
I use tink products regularly with decent results. I did fall for a gimmic last year and bought a couple cans of A-Ways scent string. Waste of money IMO and made more of a mess than I cares to deal with.
I went to scheels to restock my supply of tracer nocks and was talked into trying these. Sure glad I did, I don't miss having to turn the nocks on and off.

I live in Polk City, 20 miles North of Des Moines. I work for the State and am also a paid on call fire captain. Hobbies are hunting and being an Administrator for another well known hunting forum.
