Ya that's kinda how I feel Ollie, at least he made it through the breeding season to keep those good genes going, I shot one like him 2 years ago probably his daddy.
Well update on this buck. He got shot during the first shotgun season. 18 year old kid got him. I saw it coming I had seen him a lot leading up to the first season. Never got the age but he was disappointed to see he only scored mid 140's. Kinda saw that coming. I appreciate all the feed back...
I know it seems early but most of the big boys on my set up are locked down on does. Little guys running around but the big guys are all locked tight. Have turned to patterning the does movements cause our big boy is on her tight. Heavnt had any luck connecting though. have seen two mature bucks...
So i have passed this buck twice in the last week. And each time it kills me. I have a feeling he is young and could be something real nice one day if he can make it...... what yall think? is he 3.5? thats what im thinking. I feel crazy lettin such a good looking buck walk bye.
I use VS-1 and Deer herd in a stick as a cover scent. Heavnt had a deer blow out on me in two years and have had them dead down wind multiple times. I once watched a buck make 6 scrapes along the edge of a feild, in every spot where i had rubbed my foot in the grass ( I apply VS-1 to my feet...
I agree... Johnny and ten are same buck, didn't catch it at first because of weird angle but just looking at that left side, they both look identical the way they curl in. Either way it's a good buck!
Ok. Thanks. I know i definitely Need an HD camera just didn't know if i should go with something a little more professional like a Sony fx7 or if those handhelds do a good job, yours seems to shoot pretty impressive footage. Plus u can't beat the simplicity of the hard drive.
