Great bird trapper! I love the colors on those Merriams. I sure wish we had those down in MO. Congrats on a fine kill and even better that it was with the stick and string.
Good luck trapper. I was really hoping to get up to Nebraska for the archery opener but things just didn't pan out this year. I hope the gobbling is good for you this morning!
We had put some corn down to get a better feel of the deer herd on this property and ended up bringing in a lot of birds too. We knew we had a lot of turkeys on the property but the struttin pics were just a nice bonus to an allready good card pull.
Seeing Terriffic_toms post with the strutter reminded me to post up these pics off of our last card pull this weekend. I've always wanted to get a picture similar to this and the turkeys cooperated pretty well for the camera. Only four more weeks until the MO opener....can't wait!
I unfortunately don't have a picture of it, but I took an early 1900s ladder from my grandpa's corn crib, cut it to fit in my man room, and hang my shed antlers on the rungs of the ladder.
My hunting Buddy and I ended up taking nearly 500" of bone this year and all kills were made possible by two tools.....the PackRack and VECtor grunt tube. Being small enough to put into your pocket and easy enough to manipulate when you have a 175" buck at 60 yards where you won't get busted...
I'd definitely give CCleaner (Crap Cleaner) a try. I have it on all of my computers and run it usually every couple of weeks. You'll be surprised how much "crap" it actually cleans from your computer.
Yeah, usually. But I'll also take the backroads (65/330/14) at times. But with the weather as it's being predicted, I'll probably stick to the Interstates. My wife's family lives about 20 minutes to the southwest of CF.
Sorry this isn't Whitetail oriented, but I can't seen to find what I'm looking for by searching the web or I figured I'd ask here - and no one knows weather predictions better than hunters! I am/was planning on heading up to the Waterloo area on Wednesday night for Christmas but have heard that...
Finding this buck was really a bitter sweet moment. It's tough to find one of this caliber rotting away instead of seeing him on the hoof, but at the same time I'm glad that I was the one to find him. But I would have liked to see what he had before he broke everything off of the nontypical...
Terry Miller of Miller's Taxidermy in Plattsburg, MO has done all of my european mounts and he also does an excellent job on shoulder mounts as well. I can't say enough good things about Terry. He's a great taxidermist and even a better person. I'd suggest him to anyone in the west MO/east KS...
A few weeks ago I had posted about coming across a large nontypical deadhead while attempting a spot and stalk while bowhunting.

Well tonight I picked him up front the taxidermist all cleaned up. Two of us did two measurements at...
I agree completely. This year it doesn't seem to matter where you're hunting at in the Midwest, all hunters seem to be complaining about the number of deer being seen. I am no different, this year has been one of the worst seasons I've seen as far as quantity is concerned. However, we had...
