Finally after long long hours in the stand.

Way to stick with it! Congrats on a great deer.

    Is 80 Acres Enough?

We have an 80 acre lease in KS that only has two small (lightly timbered) draws with the remainder CRP. The amount of deer that call this place home is amazing, especially large bucks. There is big timber to the west of us but we found sheds off of 6 150"+ bucks this past spring, if I remember...

Missouri Bow Kill During Rifle Season

I'll start off by saying that this bow season has been a tough and strenuous year is an understatement, but everything finally came together on Saturday evening. Saturday evening started out with a button buck that spent nearly an hour within bow range that just would not leave me alone...

    Melanistic Oddball Buck!

Yes, my BIL had two black deer running around his section near Cedar Falls a couple of years ago. Never did hear if anyone shot one or not though. But he would see them regularily while checking his fields.

Got a good one in KS!

Hey Mark, these are the sheds off of that buck from last year. Bo and I thought this buck would turn into the "Crab Claw 10" but we were a little off. Instead of putting any growth into this G4s, his brow tines went CRAZY. I've never seen a deer's brow tines change as much as this deer's did...

Big Buck Down anyone have pictures yet?

There was a buck posted on AT this morning that rough scored at 240 with a couple drops on it's right side that was shot last night I believe and I think it was taken in SC or SE Iowa. But for the life of me I can't find the thread...maybe the guy deleted it for some reason.

    Dagger

After running cameras, shed hunting, and bow hunting a property for five years, one would think I'd have had more encounters with this buck. I first found his right side in early 2008 and then the match in early 2009 - approximately 400 yards from each other. A month or so ago, we got the very...

    Browzilla and Bullwinkle

    The Scrapes are Heating Up....

Here are a few pics from a 5 day period last week on a fresh scrape. I had over 10 different bucks visit the scrape during the course of the week. I really like this one...a nice 8 plus a two bucks fighting in the back ground. Time to start bringing the horns into the woods!

A Couple Early Target Bucks (Update 6/23)

I've only had the camera out for less than a week, and two decent looking deer have decided to be nice enough to pose for the camera. I posted the first earlier last week and I think I'm going to name him "Thumbs" because of his brows at the moment. Thumbs - 06.23.08 The second I'm...

    First Pics of the Year

Finally decided to get a trail cam put out this year and I decided to try a spot that we've never hung a cam before. Before going in we spotted four bucks about 100 yards off...one with four points on each side and another with six to eight inch brows. Unfortunately, neither of them has...

    Poison Ivy Prevention/Treatment

I use an over the counter product called Tecnu. It's a lotion that you rub on the rash for two or three minutes and then you're done. It's worked really well on me on fresh rashes...not so well on areas over a week or so old. It's pretty cheap and you should be able to find it at any pharmacy.

Shot My First Bird Ever This Morning

This morning I had a buddy take me out to some property he turkey hunts, hoping for me to get my first bird. By 7 this morning, I had filled my tag! We easily heard over 100 gobbles from the roost, but it was pretty quite once they hit the ground. After about 30 minutes of only hearing a few...
