    Bo knows hunting

Back a few years when I was hunting a pheasant competition he was at the same place trying to shoot pheasants with a recurve. He also had an ESPN tv crew with him. I gained some respect for him then.

How did you hear about Iowawhitetail.com?

A friend at work told me about the site when the Louvesten buck was the Albia buck. I don't post much, but I am a member and enjoy the site tremendously. My thanks go out to all that are involved in keeping this site enjoyable and friendly.

    Tick magnet

I've read that the match approach and any other "torture" type ways to remove them is not the right thing to do. The same article recommended covering the area with the mouth of a bottle with rubbing alcohol and then tip the bottle up so the ticks back end is "swimming".. do this for a couple...

    Shot placement with bow

I was watching a video this weekend and they recommended to shoot right into the top of the thigh. They said the turkey needs its legs to get flying and if you shoot it where the thigh meets the body it won't be able to fly or run and if it is quartering away you will also drill the vitals...

    Very Serious

I use to take cheap blind material and thumb tacks. Find the right place and use the thumb tacks to fasten the blind material to the tree/trees and sit behind.

    Lesson's Learned

I learn something new every year. This year as well as last when the shot at the bruiser presented itself it was quick and I didn't think through the shot well enough before I pulled the release trigger. I hit them both high and didn't recover either (you would think I would learn) I also...

is Pheasant Hunting legal with a .22 ??

I don't believe it is illegal to shoot pheasants with a .22. Shooting from the roadway would be. A loaded clip is the same as a loaded gun in Iowa. I have seen pheasants sitting in a field exactly like your talking. If there is decent cover (corn stalks, worked field) you do have the chance...
