    last chance saloon question

I know it's probably a wasted tag at this point but it will be a long spring and summer of not sitting in silence 20 ft. up.

    last chance saloon question

I was thinking about getting a late muzzy tag and hunting it with a bow (I have not hunted a firearm season yet). Additional Question: If hunting with a bow during late muzzy do you have to wear blaze orange?

    last chance saloon question

If you were to hunt on Fri. afternoon and shoot a deer you are unable to recover that night (ie, forced to back out due to a gut shot). Are you able to recover the animal the next day even though the season is over? Thanks again to all of you who offer your knowledge to newbs like me.

    Two Years... One Deer

Yesterday I harvested a whitetail deer for the first time in my 36 years on this planet! Last year was my first and I humbley ate a big bowl of tag soup, this year the menu changes a little. The weekend started out with my wife and I finding out we will be having a baby girl in March (we have 3...

    Every fighter has a plan....

no "shwwack" but it would have been hard to recognize over the sound of my heart pumping. additionally, the deer "bounded" away, taking big jumps instead of running at a dead sprint. i am not sure how the deer should run after being shot, sadly my only basis for how a deer acts once shots...

    Every fighter has a plan....

until he takes his first punch. Last night I sent an arrow towards live game for the first time in my life. Fail. This is only my second season and last night was my most exciting hunt to date. Spent the afternoon in the stand and saw a couple of young bucks chasing does right under my stand...

    tuck, THEN roll

So last night I separated my shoulder while showing my son's cub scout den how to execute a forward diving roll. Could there be worse timing? When I asked the Dr about shooting a bow he sarcasticly said "its good to see you have.priorities". He then told me I can't do anymore damage to it...

"if i don't shoot him - someone else will - so i better shoot him"

This thread has really given this newbie a lot of insight to a question I have honestly been a little afraid to ask. Last year was my first and I am yet to harvest a deer, but I have been a little worried that if I am lucky enough to harvest a deer and post a picture of it, I would have the...

    Olympic wrestling gone?

First off, I have to say I was a wrestler. I am from a wrestling town, started when I was 5 and went thru high school. All my brothers wrestled. One of my brothers is a h.s. coach (at the state tourney right now). This sport is in my blood and will be forever. Nothing build mental toughness...

my first season is in the books

This was my first hunting season ever. I didn't take a deer. I didn't even take a shot at a deer. I never even had a deer in range. I should be disapointed and frustrated, but all I can think about is next season. Having never hunted before, I probably didn't choose the easiest of paths when...

Hope I'm not too old to be new

Hello all, I am new to IW, new to archery, new to hunting, but I am 35 years old. I became interested in hunting about a year ago, while thinking about things that would be good to do with my 3 young boys as they grow up. I never hunted with my father growing up and I hope that is somthing I can...
