    TSS thoughts?

I like em for my son out of his 20g. I use the 3" #9s. Helps extend his range. For me I just shoot cheap 3 1/2" #4s or 5 Kent shells for turkeys. Never shot one past 45yds, usually try to get them in closer and if they don't come closer, I'll just go work the next bird. I'm cheap when it...

    Tree Planting

The larger chinquapins have produced acorns for a few years now. I've never seen more than a handful on at a time though, nothing crazy but I don't check them all that often during the summer truthfully. And once they fall they're in the thick brome and gobbled up by critters faster than I...

    Tree Planting

In this thread of Paul's are pictures of a tree planting we did in spring of 2012 (or possibly 2011). It's wild to go up here now and see the progress in ~10 growing seasons. Large red, chinquapin, and pure white oaks. They really do grow fast IMO. It's just not the 'instant' improvement to...

    Cedar shingle oak hillside

I've been working on over grown cedars thickets a lot - cutting lower limbs and piling them up has really helped. I haven't gotten to the point of actually dropping many trees because they're still piled in there too tight. Thought about girdling some but the skeletons would still stand. Also...

    I HATE COYOTES!!!!!!!!

Is it bad that I missed a shot opportunity on a mangy coyote this last December (couldn't get the blind window down fast enough) and thought "you know... that's probably ok, I hope he spreads it".

    Keeping open water in winter

Here's where I'm at on my brainstorming: Remove the electrical generating portion of this and mount a wheel on it... Connect it to here so it turns the fly wheel and boom, you've got air being pushed out this compressor, into a hose, that's fed into the water and bubbles. Seems doable!?

I'd need something a fraction of that size really - love the simplicity of that tho!

    Keeping open water in winter

I'm reading today and learning solar isn't in the works... would take way too many panels to maintain enough battery power to run a 12v trolling motor on low nonstop Windmill is a better option! I've found a number of windmills that pump air and are used to aerate ponds. Now be nice to find...

That's where my mind is going... just need to find out the proper solar setup!

    Keeping open water in winter

I'm thinking trolling motor hooked up to a 12v battery and then have a solar setup large enough to charge the battery... anyone know anything about solar?? I'd be running the trolling motor on the lowest possible setting. Seeing some old trolling motors on FB Marketplace for $50. Estimate 12...

    Keeping open water in winter

Right!? I'm finding more stuff related to waterfowl hunting but nothing that doesn't run off electrical or a generator. Need solar options
