how long until the acorns germinate??

Really? Next Spring? I thought whites would grow this fall if planted now and reds would winter over and sprout next spring. I'm gathering up some now and I fully expect those little buggers to be out of the ground before the snow flies.....

Is this a good fall plot mix & what about this fertilizer

Seem to be OK - I planted the mix the other day and also put some seed in a pot at home. The stuff really popped in a week. I did add some additional clover and threw in a bag of "forage oats" as well. All the test pots are coming up green. I planted a week ago and we got some good rain so I'm...

Is this a good fall plot mix & what about this fertilizer

I'll double check I reread the label because I thought for $3 a bag I was going to buy it all. The middle zero didn't bother me but when I read the "chlorine" and couldn't find any explanation on the bag I was spooked. But I'll go back and see if there's any left and make sure I read it right.

Travesty of Justice in Taylor County

Really, really, odd. I'm a lawyer. This, as reported above, if even close to being accurate is hard to understand. I've never even heard of anything close to this. Sure, a judge can dismiss cases, but its usually for some legal reason, not for budgetary concerns. DUI first offense is a...

Give me your best Ideas on grass-like food plot around a new lake

Grassy enough? I looked at some photos of the clover with chickory and it looked a little rough for a "lawn." Maybe just the rye grass with dutch white clover would be the best.

Give me your best Ideas on grass-like food plot around a new lake

I've got the chance to plant something around a newly built lake at a buddy's place. He has a new house there too but there's a creek on both sides and its a pretty good spot that I'd like to keep and improve. This lake is basically going to be his back yard. It's probably two or three acres of...
