I guess the real question is do we want more deer just to "see" when we are out hunting? Is that the real reason? Do any of you farm? Are any of you landowners? I think the governor has to take more than just the hunters point of view in his decision making. I would love to see 20 deer a night...
Had two bucks (2.5 y.o 8 and a 3.5 y.o 10) going at it in front of me last night. That brought one other small buck in, but i still think its too early.
Also went out last night. Had great movement the last 40 minutes or so. 6 Does and 4 Bucks. A 2 1/2 year old 8 pt and a 3.5 year old 10 pt were really going at it in the CRP in front of me for 20 minutes. Both presented nice 15 yd broadside shots, but have to wait for their big brother to come...
Traditional Ammuntion Ban - Defeated for now
Thank you to all who sent emails to the Committee members. This mornings Administrative Rules Reveiw Committee voted 9-1 to delay the NRC's traditional ammunition ban for dove hunting.
This is great news, however, we have to now battle this again...
Lost a scheels camo backpack with antlers, rangefinder, scents, calls, tree steps west of Granger. Was last seen on edge of a field driveway by beaver creek. Please message me if you know any information. Would really like to have that back.
Thanks!
Out of state hunters drive me up the wall as well, but rest assured Gov. Brandstad did not veto a dove bill. I can certifiably garronteeeee that did not happen. If you can find me an article or entry in legislative journal that says otherwise I will mail you a 20 bass pro gift card. Scouts honor...
Second one looks like a deer I shot last year. I would say gross 150 and is 3 1/2. First one is no older then 2 1/2 and is only in the 120 130 range. 1 or 2 more years and we will be seein those at the deer classic! Got some good wide genes out there man!
Tom Vilsack voted to veto the dove bill in 2000, brandstad was out of office. Brandstad worked to get one to his desk every year he was in office and, according to when I asked him last month, will again!!
I dont think Branstad was saying we need to open the state for over the counter tags for crazy our of staters. I think he was wanting to market our hunting opportunites to out of stateres to help our rurarl economies. Without out of state hunters coming in for pheasant season, we need to use or...
This 3/8 of a cent reserve fund currently has no funding. If we pass this, we will only be inviting ourselves to a brand new sales tax increase. This is a great idea, however if passed will only invite who ever is in power to increase the sales tax to start harvesting the 3/8 of a cent needed to...
