The debate of big open plots vs screened off plots is still open for everyone.
Tony laPratt is a BIG BELIEVER in screening plots down to micro plots. Anyone disagree?
Ok share your opinion and experience:
1) Do you prefer one BIG food plot without screening OR. breaking the plot up with screening so deer cannot see across the entire plot so they have to walk through your plot? What is your ideal plot size?
2) is planting switchgrass screening on the edges...
I was considering planting 100 yards of real world giant miscanthus as an access screen and way to funnel deer.
For those who have planted rows of it, do deer walk thru it or does it work almost like a fence if thick enough ?
Very good interview Jake did with drone deer surveyor.
He mentioned late season when he does drone surveys, VERY FEW deer are seen bedding in switchgrass. Most deer choose to bed in timber and prefer timber than has been TSI cut.
Why then is NWSG hyped up as year round deer bedding??!
