    Hey!

Kent, No problem for the Mapquest aerial tip. I had a guy tell me about it this past fall and now I use it all the time. MB1

    Hey!

A great way to get aerial photos is to go to mapquest.com, type in the nearest town to where your hunting spot is and then when the map of that town comes up, in the upper right hand corner of the map there will be an "aerial" button. Click on this button and it shows the aerial view of the...

    Pic's from todays video footage...

Dan, Great pics. I live in SE Wisconsin as well and I hit a deer last weekend with my car. Did $6,400 worth of damage. It was a buck that had already shed it's antlers. I think with all of the cold weather that it's happening early this year. MB1

    Lovilia

Does anyone on here hunt near Lovilia or know of anyone who does ? I would like to get any input as to what the quality of the whitetail hunting in this area is like. Also, what is the hunting pressure like ? Any input you can provide is greatly appreciated. Thanks in advance, MB1

    Opening day buck?

I had several real nice bucks patterned here in southeast Wisconsin coming to a secluded soybean field in the afternoons, but the soybeans dried up just before the season opened and so did the buck sightings. MB1

How many people have missed a Booner?

I had my bow tied to the rope hanging down from my stand and was just getting ready to climb up in it about 1:30 in the afternoon when I saw movement about 50 yards away. I was hunting in Illinois and a huge 10 pointer (my best guess is he would have scored in the 180's) was walking straight at...

    Best time in Iowa

I see you're from Maine and I assume you have to book your plane flight in advance, but a big part of it will be the weather. I hunted southeast Iowa for the first time last fall and my first morning there (November 2nd) it was about 15 degrees and calm in the morning and I had one of the best...

    Pike County Illinois land auction

Just came across this upcoming land auction in Pike County, Illinois next Thursday the 22nd. I've never been to one of these auctions before, but I read a lot of complaining on this site about rising land prices and thought maybe you could get a deal on land at an auction. Not sure if that's...

Input on some hunts you would like to see!!

One of the most exciting non-whitetail hunts I've seen on video was a guy who was bow hunting for grizzly bears from a treestand along a river in Alaska where the bears were coming to feed on the salmon. That hunt really captured your attention. MB1

    Buying a farm on contract?

Don't forget that if you make payments on a land contract that the interest is considered "investment interest" for tax purposes and can only be deducted to the extent of investment income. The undeducted portion gets carried forward. If you take out a home equity loan, you may be able to...

    TreeHopper - New Sponsor

I just ordered their climbing belt. I saw a demonstration on the Outdoor Channel last week and it looked like exactly what I was looking for. It looks simple and it keeps you safe as you're climbing up and down the tree. MB1
