I would say I am guilty of driving back roads to look at deer. When I have the kids and the wife is at work they love to drive and look for deer. I guess I wouldn't take off if someone pulled up to me though, That sounds suspicious!!! Oh ya I don't have any weapons in the truck while doing this...

I had a similar experience with my 5 year old this year. We had 13 does/fawns and 1 little buck and I let him pick which deer to shoot, he ended up picking a nice doe that was about 3 yards from the blind. These times are priceless with our little ones and I bet your 8 year old will talk about...

I have noticed little movement here in MN as well. Sat and Sunday were lights out but the week was very slow. We had the gun season going all week so that may have had a little effect. But Wisconsin was slow as well.
