do any of u guys have a problem choosing which stand to sit in? Ive always had at least two stands where i hunt although never where i can see the other.Just wondering if i should consentrate on one stand?

i hunt a very small area not much timber wind direction about the same at either stand but always wondering if im in the wrong stand.i need a clone.

If I were simply talking about ME, (I am insane by the way and totally extreme), I have 20 stands in an area SO I can hunt 5 different stands for example if the wind stays the same direction for 5 days. you obviously don't need (or want) to be nuts like me.

More stands the better, obviously I'd go with 2 over 1, 3 over 2 and so on as long as they are in key spots. Good hunting.

A smart man once told me... it's better to have 1 great stand than 10 mediocre stands.

But you can't find that great stand without experimenting with other stands over time.

This is as true as it gets. I've got around 40 stand sites on eight different farms. Six of those farms I've never hunted so I'm experimenting until I can narrow it down to a couple general areas on each farm. The honey holes. If there is such a thing. I love observation stands for early in the year too. Also many of these stands I might not see this year but they will always be there for a rainy day.

I say keep both stands but maybe you should get one for a NW wind and one for a N or S or whatever. That way your utilizing both of them and your good to go for all winds...

I'd say half of the spots I put up for the 1st time I end up pulling OR moving later.
I used to put some stands up for the sake of having more BUT now I bag all my mediocre spots. Still, my "PRIME" new locations, I end up being wrong or having to tweak 50% of the time.

80-90% of the time that I am seriously hunting bucks I am going mobile with a fresh set ......I climb in, set stand and hunt now. Best chance at a bruiser is of course the first time in IMO.

When looking to harvest does its probably 50/50 ....I tend to get a little lazier then .....going back to old favorites that are pre set or perminent stands.

I'll hang anywhere from 7 to 12 fixed stands in proven terrain spots, depends on the year. Some of those spots may only get hunted once or twice, others 4 or 5 times because they can handle that pressure. I use a LW to hunt fresh setups a-lot also. I personally wouldn't enjoy having to hang a stand every time I hunt, so I stick with both options.
