Anti-Hunting article

Some people are so stupid. Deer pose no threat to humans yea right just ask the family of a young man that was just killed on his motorcycle by hitting a deer.Wake up the only solution is controlled hunting.End of story.

I hate idiots like her...
here was my post
The reason more and more deer are living in the city limits is because of the loss of their habitat. As your city expands into neighboring suburbs it is driving the deer back into city parks that have established habitat that will not change because it is protected.
The fact that you are worrying about being shot by hunter is ridiculous. You have more of a chance of being injured in a car accident than being shot by a bow hunter. That being said, why don't you start a petition to ban driving? Also note that those allowed to hunt in the city limits are required to pass a profiency test. This ensures the hunters ability to make an ethical vital shot. With a clean vital shot, the deer will usually expire within 20 minutes. Now tell me, what is more humane, harvesting a deer ethically? or allowing the deer to possibly get hit by a vehicle and live for a year with a broken leg? Better, yet, let a deer live to the age where it no longer has teeth to eat because they have been worn down? Then, the deer simply starves to death.
Do me a favor and do a little more research before posting. By purchasing these hunting licenses, urban hunters bring money into the state to provide better habitat for the deer in the proper places. You would rather the state or city of Ames spend the peoples tax dollars on such futile efforts such as deer detering landscaping or highfencing the city parks? Sounds more like a farm for humans than a park....

I am now dumber for having read that article. What a crock. I think she should just go smack a deer with her car and see how she feels. Unless, of course, her daddy pays for the damages.

Put my 2 cents in. Thanks for posting the article. I think that she might backed into a hole quicker then she has ever been if enough bowhunters get on there!

This is my reply: Erica,Erica,

Get your facts straight....Bowhunting is one of the safest pastimes anyone could participate in...check the stats out for yourself. If you are afraid to walk in any park, I'd be more afraid of the tree hugging Peta people that I'm sure you support. By the way, my license fees support the Iowa DNR, how much do you give to do the same?
