I'm new to the trail cam world. I just bought a stealth cam 2.1 mp. Any advise befor I send her out on her maiden voyage?

Welcome to the site cpelley1. Trailcams are very addictive as you are about to find out.
Set your cam a few feet off the ground where there are lot's of deer. Don't point it at the sun or cedar trees.
Those few basics should get you off to a good start.

Hey Shovel, why can't you aim your camera at cedar trees? I've never heard of that. Just wondering.

Cedars can get hotter than the surrounding air temp, and then if the wind moves them a photo can be taken.
That's how I heard it anyway.
