i just moved up here from oklahoma to go to school. this is the first year that i have not already shot a deer with my bow. i have been looking around at some of the public land, and actually tried some out this weekend. in fact i just got in from that wet afternoon. i have seen a buck, and several does, but nothing promising. is there any public land that is better than the others? This is the first time i have had to hunt it, not to mention nothave several stands up. thanks for any help!

i hadda buddy that lived in and hunted des moines area public ground exclusively. i'll try and email him and find out where he was at. he lives in wisconsin now but the buck he shot last year was a 24 inch wide 8 point that went about 140 or so. great buck just busted up.
