Any of the new Sony's work?

For making a homebrew camera? Best buy has a lot of them on sale, must not carry the P41 anymore, it is not even on Sony's site? T33, W5, or P200? Why is the P41 so popular?

I know that seems to be the camera of choice. But will any of the newer ones work?

No! Go to ebay and find what you need then call me. The P41 has many feature that make it a great camera for inside a case. First and formost the lens is fixed, all of the new sonys have optical zooms. Trust me and find a camera.

I am done buying p41's for now on ebay....I bought several in the last few weeks...you can still find them on there for about 140-160 shipped tho

The newer cameras don't have pic chips to run them, it takes a programing of the chip to run the camera and even the p31 and p41 are not the same program. The new s40 is supposed to look pretty good and one guy online has them to be a little faster than the p41 but it will be hard to find a board at the present time to run that camera.
