Best area in the state?

Ringgold or Decator Countys. Way too many deer and some huge bucks. Still need to get a pic of that Amish buck by Redding DNR guy said it was 247 rough score . That kids brother whacked a 180s ! Some real nice ones out there yet!
 
I dont know the BEST place to hunt in iowa but alot of people say Des moines, Lee, and Van Buren Counties are as good as it gets. go to the iowa dnr website and it shows you the countes with the most big bucks killed each year. In illinois the biggest bucks are killed in Adams county.

Gladiator's post is only half right. Allamakee may have the most entries, but if you look when they were entered it was many years ago.
