This country if going down. The PWT is gone. All the sponsors pulled out because of the economy.

Well that is not exactly what happened. The PWT folded because of bad management primarily IMHO. It is partly the economy too, but when some of the major sponsoring companies decided not to renew their contracts, the PWT went belly up. The PWT is owned by Intermedia, the same company that owns a LOT of magazines such as NA Whitetail, Bowhunter, In-Fisherman, etc. They are more interested in publications than tournaments and it shows.
They announced last winter that 2008 would be the last year for the PWT. There were a lot of factors involved but the economy was only a small part of it. Another group has started up to try and replace it, they are called AIM (angler's insight marketing) and they are running pro-am tournament in 2009, but they are really struggling. Many PWT and FLW pros invested in AIM to try to get it off the ground but they have a really steep hill to climb.
It's a tough time for walleye tournament fishing.
