Here's a little insight on this case which I have on pretty good authority...This is all a matter of public record since it happened in court so here's what I was informed:

This lady fired 8 to 10 rounds with a 9mm. She apparently doesn't like deer hunting, and her neighbors killed a doe during the late Dec doe season. She starts lobbing rounds and they belly-crawled out of there!

This was a conviction by a Platte County jury...as she was apparently offered a deal, but she took it to the mat and LOST BIG!!! The 15 day jail sentence was RECOMMENDED by the jury, but the judge apparently can still over-ride it. She was charged with reckless endangerment and hunter-harassment. Does Iowa have such a law?

If there is any updates I catch wind of, I'll pass it on.

Oh, one more item of note...

Platte County is one county south of me, and includes the northwest portion of the city of Kansas City. (KCI Int'l Airport is in Platte County.)

A lot of "city folks" have transplanted themselves to rural Platte County, wanting to get out of the city. The southern portion and the northern portion of the county are polar opposites.

I agree w/ Kansas. If she was honestly shooting at them, shouldnt that be attempted murder? 15 days seems pretty light to me for taking several shots at someone, even if you missed.
 
I agree! 15 days for shooting a 9mm at someone? Doesn't seen right, I would consider that attemted murder if she was intentially shooting at them.
