Anyone have a pulse on what walnut is going for now days? My parents are looking to pull out roughly 21-22mbf of what I would say are nice, quality, trees.

Lots of things working against the walnut market right now. Very bad time of year to cut high dollar logs. Tariffs are also really impacting who is buying and what they are paying. Really shocking to me how much of the Walnut is exported. I would not do a Walnut sale unless its an areas being cleared or another reason that cant be avoided. Some of the sales i saw late winter but after the Tariffs started brought about 50% of what they would have 18-24 months ago.

This could turn around fast … if walnut is not getting to where it’s supposed to go? Shortages are created … watch the next year or two .

It looks like Trump got it done with China.
Trump is a complete clown. He did not win anything with China. He backed off because they didn’t flinch. This tariff war is a joke… we will never have equal trade with other countries. Anyone that has taken a basic economics class knows that equal trade is not what is best for each party. Focus on your strengths and buy from others to supplement your weaknesses.
Before you respond just know I voted for Trump.
