For Me It Depends On How Much Rain We Get. When The Clover Gets Tall Enough to Bloom or starts to fall over we cut it down to about 4-5 inches. Hope this helps

I've clipped mine twice now but I think it will slow down some now if we don't get some more rain soon.
Just don't want it to get to heavy and smother itself when you clip it.
I wish the deer would spend a little more time in my clover and leave my corn and soybeans alone...they seem to be doing a good job of "clipping" the beans
