Deer hittin' my tomatoes!

What is an effective way to keep deer from eating tomato plants?

First thing that came to my mind was a tall fence, those things can be rough on plants once they find something they love...I know there has to be some chemicals/sprays out there.

Plot Saver was one used to keep deer out of food plots.

For some reason I thought I've seen something aplied directly to the plant before but can't think of it?

On another site someone mentioned using Irish Spring Soap. Anyone heard of that working?

I think there are several chemicals on the market you can spray to keep them away.

Some tree farms swear by it...

my uncle uses an electic wire strung around his garden that repels all wildlife.

a trip to the local barber shop for a bag of hair will do the trick.

Had an unfriendly neighbor try to ruin a treestand with Irish Spring, luckily for me it's a myth and it didn't work.
