Doe Estrus Overuse

I was in a sporting goods store a month ago and there were some guys buying doe estrus to use that day... My dad was using doe estrus yesterday... still two weeks before the rut really kick-starts. I was debating with him that it is important to use scents in accordance with the time they are used natually. He disagrees and says a buck doesn't know the difference... so use estrus. He said one of his buddies had 3 nice bucks responding to estrus last week.

What do you think about using scent at times when deer themselves aren't even dispensing them yet? Personally, I argued that it is better to wait and use estrus, for example, from November 8 and through the rut. Why educate deer before that? Just curious what you all think? It seems the general hunting population overuses estrus way too much!

know what i use the same thing your dad does. Except i dont set the scent out yet i just take it up with me in the stand and open it up.tonight i had a small buck walk unfront of me so i broke out the grunt call and the Estrus call.I used the Estrus call first and had no luck at all. Then i tried the doe grunt. He turned around and came back to the stand. Did this twice the exact same way and he only responded to the grunt call. Just give it a couple of weeks and you will know a differance. But to answere your question "I" think that he shouldnt use it quiet yet. They might be in Pre-rut but the scent isnt working for me.
