Doves anyone??

My son and I spent a little time enjoying the first ever Iowa dove season this weekend. A friend of mine told me the average was 3 birds per box of shells, and if that's true, Hunter and I were only slightly above average...we ended up with 4 Here's Hunter with his first two doves on a public piece near our home.

Anyone else give it a try?? And who has a good recipe for doves??

Went out saturday morning and took awhile to get back into the grove of things. We sure burnt alot of ammo.

I always liked soaking them overnight in salt water, drain that off, then soak them for 6-8 hours in Italian dressing, then sprinkle brown sugar and ceyann pepper, wrap in apple smoked bacon and grill till bacon is crispy.

we went last saturday. it wasnt as good as usual. we got 14 birds between the 4 of us. last year we all limited out at 15 birds a piece. it was still fun though. Wrap em in bacon and grill em
