Early Season Scents

Hey all
I am new to the forum however I have been reading posts for months and finally decided to post. I have a question- Is anybody using any scents this early such as doe urine dominant buck scrape etc. I was wondering if anybody is having any success? Good hunting to all.

I will be waiting 2 more weeks, a little pre-rut should be on it's way then. I'll get the decoy out with a little dom. buck urine on it, rattle the horns and wait for the show to start!! Hopefully some of this corn will be gone, all the beans at least. I'll wait until at least the last weekend of Oct for the "hot" doe urine. This is only what "I" do, we'll see what other guys are doing.

I haven't tried it yet this early but I would think it couldn't hurt. Those bucks are always looking for the first doe in heat around.

I've got recent trail cam pics of a buck bird dogging a doe, so who knows. Try and let us know.

I watched a little buck dog a little doe last week. She wasnt intrested at all.

Several years ago I tried using some real early like 3weekend in Sept. A little buck game in down wind to it. And started making a fresh scrape.

I doubt it will hurt your chances.

In early season I us Hunters Specialties natural doe urine for a cover and later in the month I use the Ole TINKS 69.

Sometimes I hang a tarsal gland from last year, early...but I haven't been out in this HEAT yet this year. I can't say it has worked one way or another.

I use the tarsal more as a cover scent than an attractant.

I think hunting travel routes and food sources is more beneficial than scents this time of the year.
