Ever hear of gps tracking for tree stands?

Just wondering if anyone has ever heard of something like that. I believe there is something out there that would work and that you can actually track on your home PC. I lost a couple of stands in southern Iowa last year and I am just starting to look in to hiding a sensor on stands that I put up from now on. I am not really computer savy, so I'm not sure what I am looking for exactly. Wouldn't that be too cool to be able to catch someone stealling your equipment?

I have sold a couple of units in the past to install in cars that have GPS Tracking.
Business's were using it to make sure employees weren't abusing company car privileges.
This unit was about twice the size of a deck of cards.
A little big for a treestand.

Could I place someting like that in the seat and then could I track it from 140 miles away. I would assume so on the distance. What would something like that cost?

At $700 dollars and only a one month battery life, it might be cheaper to just replace the stands...or to hang them where they won't be stolen.

Thats just it...
People dont understand that some of this stuff is extremely expensive.

You ought to see some of the jaws hit the floor when I tell them prices of some of this GPS and Camera equipment stuff!
