Here's info on an upcoming conference about 20 minutes from Dubuque. I go every year and there is always excellent information. Check out the website for more info. See below:

Dear Tri-State Forest Stewardship Conference Enthusiast,
After some delays in getting the program put together and then some issues with the online registration site, I am finally ready to invite you to register for and attend the 2008 Tri-State Forest Stewardship Conference! Rest assured, it will be the same high-quality conference that we have offered in the past. When you are ready to register, please do so via the online registration website, if possible. Remember, the early bird registration deadline is February 8, so don't delay in registering.
Sincerely,
Peggy Compton

ADDITIONAL CONFERENCE INFORMATION:
The company that we contract with for processing online registration has updated their website so you will need to do a site registration. It is very simple and will only take a few moments-less time if you registered online last year and remember your password. Once you have registered for
their site, you can register as a conference exhibitor and also register additional adult or youth participants, by using the Add button and adding those events to your cart. Don't forget to select the presentations you wish to attend and your lunch choice. Anyone who does not make a lunch choice will receive a "Turkey Dinner" ticket.

There are two ways to get to the online registration website. If you want to go directly there, click on the following link:
https://uwebe.encumpus.com If you want to view the youth session outline or other conference information and documents, you might first go to my website at:
<http://basineducation.uwex.edu/gpsp, click on the Tri-State Forest Stewardship Conference logo and then you will see quite a lot of information about the conference. This is the website that will have speakers' presentations and notes, following the conference, so it is a good reference to add to your "Favorites".

We do have a slight increase in registration fees this year. Why? The conference site has increased their fees for lunch and use of the facility and secondly, with the increase in gas prices, the travel costs for our presenters has increased significantly each year and we can no longer cover these costs with the former registration fees. HOWEVER, you can still get
a good deal by registering early and paying the Early Bird
fee. Registration completed online or postmarked for US mail on or before February 8, 2008 will be at the rate of $40 per person; after February 8, 2008 it is $50 per person. Online registration requires payment via credit card. The registration fee includes a continental breakfast, buffet luncheon, refreshments and a conference resource packet with handout
materials. Online registration will be open through March 1 or until maximum capacity is reached. No walk-in registrations
accepted. Cancellations after February 22, 2008 will not receive a refund of registration fees.

We will again offer a youth program. However, we are making a minor adjustment in the age-level of the youth attendees, inviting youth in grades 4-6 this year. The youth will again have their own sessions and speakers with topics including Woodland Communities, Woodland Mammals, Geocaching (using GPS to find hidden treasures) and a presentation with live Raptors!! The topics will be explored through hands-on activities,
art projects and presentations. The cost per student will be just $15 and registration is limited to the first 25 student registrants. The youth series will fill up fast so register early.

Arriving Friday night in anticipation of our early morning start on Saturday? Call Sinsinawa Mound Conference Center Guest Services at (608) 748-4411, 7 days prior to the event, to make your reservation.
