i heard the birds as soon as i open the truck door this morning .the wind was blowing rite at me ,putting and clucking .so i tried to sneak in on them but they heard me ,so they ran north down the ditch which is bout 1/2 mile long. so i went to to end of the ditch to get ahead of them but spooked them again.so went in bout 20 yds into the brush and sat down and started to call. seen the birds again on the far side of the draw which is about 70 yds across and has a large ditch in it. started to cluck a little then did alot of soft purrs and putts . one double bearded jake could not resist and flew across the ditch rite at me,he landed 30 yds away and bout 3 steps and down he went. took bout an hour to get him in to shoot. SURE WAS FUN . there were around 20 birds in the flock. good luck all . back to deer now
