On a positive, I was starting to get scared he didn't make it, but checked a camera on my bottom and had him in my brassica plot.

The negative, he just didn't put on the inches. I really thought if he made it last year, I was going to be looking at an absolute giant this year (180+). Well, he just didn't put much on.

I am guessing last year, he was 3-3.5, which should translate to a big jump. One thing that is nice is last year, I never got any fall pictures of him. My last photos were in August and figured he must just have a summer range on our farm. Now, I am hoping he moved in and his fall range changed.

Again, here he is last year:

Here he is this year, looks like his 5's grew a little and his beams look a tad longer. Right now, I think he deserves another year. Think he makes 165? I figured for sure he was a net booner this year, but no way.

I'd have a hell of a time trying to pass him up but I know what youmean another year booner for sure

He may be bigger than you think. Hard to be accurate when he is that far away from the camera. I would absolutely say he is over 165". Pretty good tine length, and appears to have good beam length.

Stud buck, I bet he's bigger than you think. Hard to tell with just one picture but it looks like he added some nice mass overall. Your call dude!

I will agree that based on last years pics you can be pretty sure he was a 3 yr old then and a 4 yr old this year. I wouldn't be able to sleep at night if I let him walk by me but I do understand wanting to see if he blows up into a mega giant as a 5 yr old. How is the hunting pressure from the neighbors on that farm?

We own the piece that goes south across a gravel road. All surrounding the farm is Ag. I have permission to hunt the northern Ag. field that borders our land. To the south along our property is a very small piece of public land that honestly rarely gets hunted and right now, it is flooded because of the duck pond that was put in isn't draining properly and has since flooded onto us and most of the public ground (runs along a creek that is backed up).

I can't honestly name a person who hunts for sure or LEGALLY next to our property.

Upper 160's is what my rough estimate is. Can't see the spread well. I have the 3's at 11 inches long. I based my estimate of other lengths off of that. If the 3's are longer then you have a Booner IMO. Average mass it appears. Great buck! Nice to see a typical and symmetrical 12 pt. Good luck.

i'D SAY HES IS 165-170 ALSO PUT HIM DOWN AND WE WILL FIND OUT IF YOU LET HIM GO HE WILL PROBABLY MAKE 180'S NEXT YEAR IF HE SURVIVES.

My 10 pointer I have on the wall was at 167" and he was very similar to this buck minus the 2 small points- I would put him at low 170's. If he walked under me- an arrow would be flying. I also wouldn't be mad if I was never given the opportunity because I would be hoping to see him at 5

Sweet looking deer! Not a whole lot of typ 12s running around, sure would looks sweet on the wall!
