Yikes!!! What a pig! This is just me and maybe I'm wrong, but if you were holding the potential world record in your hands and it was foul caught, and you released it, meaning nobody would ever know it's foul caught, would you tell people that and jeapordize the record??? I guess the guy shooting the pic would know. Ethics...I know. Just a thought.

Seen many fine bass at Lake Dixon. I wasn't talented enough to catch them though. I was good at catching the stocked trout there though, lol.

[/ QUOTE ]I think something is fishy here.

Actually why wouldn't you show the fish on the scale if you took the pic in the first place? It's a hog alright but the proof isn't there IMHO.

I ain't buying it because the Pope wasn't there to confirm the digital weight! Catch and release to the extreme! Something isn't right here, IMHO.

So I come on here and post a pic of a really nice booner, claim the next world record! Are you going to take my word for the score? What am I saying, of course you are, since I'm such an upstanding citizen and have never stretched the truth!

I saw this on TV at a sports bar this afternoon. They showed film footage of the scale reading 25lbs. I only saw a glimps on the coverage and the volume was turned down but it made my jaw drop.

I read quit a bit about this on the web, I think it was on a site called bassnet or something along those lines. I guess these guys fish lake Dixon something like 200 days a year trying to catch the new world record, which is pretty crazy speaking that you have to pay to access that lake (or so I have read). They have hooked that particular fish 3 times I belive now but only this time did it have the weight to challenge the record. Pretty cool, hopefully they hook it again sometime

they say they caught that fish before because some black spots on its jaw.I can beleive it but I would not have let it go.If you foul hook it and it happened that way it is still IGFA legal.
here in maryland not far from me there was a 107 pound striped bass caught in a gill net. That blows the world record away by 30 pounds.I fish there all the time and have been spooled before, and I was set up for a big fish.

Anyway you look at it, that fish is a pig. I don't get too caught up in how the pic was taken and all that other stuff but he is a fish of a lifetime.
