HELP!!!! SCHOOL SPEECH ON HUNTING RIGHTS

Hey guys i need help and fast,

i have a speech due friday that is a final and its a major part of our grade.....like 900 points worth.

well my topic is "Protecting Our Hunting Rights," seems easy enough to find informationn you'd think......well acctually im having trouble find enough info so i come to ask you guys if you know of any websites that talk about why we are protecting our hunting rights and who is helping us protect them and who is against us keeping our hunting rights........there is one catch to the web sites............they have to be a creditable website, NO HOMEPAGES, its a stupid rule my teacher set up and that rule really narrowed down my information.

I'd definitely mention the overpopulation problem. A call to a conservation officer or biologist could probably get you some quick facts about deer/vehicle collisions, crop damage, etc, and the effect hunting has to keep the population under control.
 
I know your report is due tomorrow, but if you're anything like I was in high school and college you haven't started yet

. Ted Nugent is pretty extreme, but he sure does make you think. His points are very valid. If you're not familiar with him here's a couple of links to some of his thoughts. I recommend you check out his first book at the library, his second book "kill it and Grill it" is a great cookbook but won't provide you with relevant info. Good Luck!

Just spotted this and see that someone already mentioned Ted Nugent. Don't let the fact that Ted is a rock star fool you....he is one of the most avid bow hunters you could name. He's also fairly articulate if you take the time to read anything he has written. He takes hunting very seriously.

I hate to say this but owning a gun is a right. Hunting is a privilege! Be honest in your speach and focus on the management and habitat sportsman have provided.

I happen to be a teacher and I did a similiar speech in college. So I believe I can help you. My professor was a anit-hunter, but she was impressed with the information I presented to the class. If you do a good job you will make a lasting impression on some uneducated students that are riding the fence on hunting.
I would advise that you mention the number of dollars hunters spend on supporting the habitat and research of the animals they hunt. For example the amount of money that Wis has spent on CWD research.
Also mention the stats on deer and vehicle collisions and fatality numbers. This has a tremendous effect on auto insurance costs that ALL vehicle owners pay. You may also want to mention hides for habitat programs and food banks for the needy.
Make sure to mention the damage that deer can cause to crop land. Again, poor yields equal more government support for farmers and more of your and my tax dollars to support farm programs. Also make sure to mention the benefits of hunting such as time spend with family and friends, relaxation, exercise, lessons you have learned from hunting.
You will need a good introduction, if you want people to listen to you. I would start out by telling the story of a family driving home from a christmas party and then tragically smashing into a deer on the highway killing both parents leaving the three small children to grow up without their love and guidance. How could this tragic accident be avoided in the future? The answer is animal populatation control through hunting.
