Hens during Iowa Fall Turkey?

A very simple question that I could not find the answer for is can you shoot hens in the fall with a gun or bow in Iowa?

Yes it is either sex. It's on page 32 of the regs booklet, under tagging requirements.

You can take one turkey of either sex here too. I usually make an effort to try to get a tom during the fall simply because those hens are the future mothers of next years' brood and I'd like have an many turkeys running around as possible.

Yeah, shoot away, practice some QTM and take out those mature hens.

Used to Fall hunt many years before trying Spring toms. I never had any qualms about taking a hen home. Matter of fact, I've probably shot more hens than toms over the years.

Ya, go ahead and shoot them. It is good to get some out of the flock. Also, it makes Spring Hunting easier, for there are less hens!!!
