Well wjs posted the party hunting question yesterday for muzzleloader and bow and now it is on the table for muzzleloader. Those of you who are members of the IBA already got this email I am sure, however I wanted to post it here for those who haven't seen it yet:

House File 2296
1 1 Section 1. Section 483A.8, subsection 2, Code Supplement
1 2 2005, is amended to read as follows:
1 3 2. a. The deer hunting license shall be accompanied by a
1 4 tag designed to be used only once. When a deer is taken, the
1 5 deer shall be tagged and the tag shall be dated.
1 6 b. The bag limit is one deer for each legal license and
1 7 transportation tag obtained. During muzzleloader seasons,
1 8 regular gun seasons, and November and January antlerless deer
1 9 only deer hunting seasons, the possession limit is one deer in
1 10 the possession of the person whose license number matches the
1 11 number of the transportation tag that is affixed to the
1 12 carcass of the deer taken.
1 13 EXPLANATION
1 14 This bill relates to the tagging and possession of deer
1 15 taken during certain deer hunting seasons.
1 16 The bill provides that during muzzleloader, regular gun,
1 17 and November and January antlerless deer only deer hunting
1 18 seasons, the possession limit is one deer in the possession of
1 19 the person whose license number matches the number of the
1 20 transportation tag that is affixed to the carcass of the deer
1 21 taken.
1 22 Currently during muzzleloader seasons, a hunter may tag and
1 23 possess only a deer that the hunter shot.
This one is a little hard to read. Party hunting was created by a rules change in the DTN and other changes with party hunting could happen the same way. What this bill would do is make party hunting the LAW (not a code change) in ALL gun seasons.

Wanted to put this up there so everyone could contact their reps and get this thing stomped out immediately
