Yea it's me the weather guy. Just reading facts of this Summer across the country. for those of us in Iowa, who have enjoyed a cool summer by Iowa standards, and thinking maybe talk of a Warm Climate is Hooey after all. I was reading stats from the west like the state of Oregon. This summer out there is slated to go down as the Hottest Summer ever recorded! Equaled only by 2013. The Big Heat Dome was anchored out there most of the time. Usually when it's hot on the west coast, it pushes cool into the Midwest as it has. Wherever the Dome sets up you are scorched. We lucked out this year.Could be another story next year.

I think there is a common misconception out there that global warming is going to cause palm trees to grow in Iowa. What is more likely is a gradual warming of the average temperature (1° per year?) with wild swings and fluctuations in weather, which we might be seeing.

Also,,as we face excess water again in Iowa,,let us think about Bakersfield Calif, that got .01 of an inch of rain on Sept 8th. This was the first precip since May 6th.

Way before the popular talk of "Global Warming", or "Climate Change", I read an article back in the early 90's about world climate changes. It said the next 50 yrs would see wild weather swings and agriculture would be ever more challenging. I think that has definitely played out.
