IKE damage

My oldest son and his family evacuated thier new home Thursday to get out of Ike's way. Thier home is located half way between Galveston and Houston. I've been watching the Weather channel and checking the web looking for the latest on water and wind damage. They just moved into a brand new home in June. Sure hope it's OK.

Perry.... I hope the family is well and that their property will not sustain any damage.

It is unbelievable that thousands of people have defied orders to evacuate... the news is reporting that thousands of these people will now have to undergo rescue attempts. How foolish can people really be?

Perry, looks like the storm was not as bad as expected and the surge was only half what they feared might hit.
We are all concerned here, let us know when Bryan checks in.

I'm glad they evacuated...homes can be replaced...people can't.

Always amazes me when people risk thier own lives because they are worried about "valuables" /forum/images/%%GRAEMLIN_URL%%/crazy.gif

Hopefully thier home didn't sustain to much damage /forum/images/%%GRAEMLIN_URL%%/smile.gif

My son got in touch with his neighbor down there and it looks like everything is OK. The onlt thing they lost was a tree. The smaller than expected storm surge helped alot.
