I guess it depends on the lay of the land.
I would imagine that the 1,000 acre plot would have plenty of hardwoods, a fair amount of slough, a good mix of high and low ground, a good amount of water with a good amount of area for food plots. There's just so much more a guy can do with a BIG plot of land versus a bunch of smaller ones. With a 1,000 acres...you could deem an area of it as "off limits" to all hunting. That would serve as a safe zone for the deer to hang out at. Depending on what bordered your property, once the land around your area gets any type of pressure, guess where the deer are going to go? Your safe zone. Managing the deer herd on it would be tougher, but that's a problem I would LOVE to have!!
