A new course is being offered as part of Heartland AEA 11's Professional Development program. Title: Basic Archery Instructor Training Heartland Activity #: HL001951660901 Description:National Archery in the Schools Program (NASP) instructor training is offered through the Iowa Department of Natural Resources. The NASP course content is designed to teach archery instruction techniques to both archery novices as well as experienced archers. Course content includes range set up and safety, use of the string bow, eleven steps to archery success, coaching techniques, equipment nomenclature, inspection, operation, maintenance and repair. Course Strategy
Candidates who take the Basic Archery Instructor Trainer course will spend 3 days learning and practicing to teach BAI. On the first day each candidate will go through the entire BAI course including the practical and written test. At the conclusion of Day 1 the BAI agenda will be divided among the BAIT candidates. The candidates will practice teaching their assigned topics on Day 2. On Day 3 the candidates will teach their assigned BAI agenda topics to the BAI candidates.

Barb and I went through the BAI train this spring and it was a very good course. If you intend to get involved at any level training archers you'll find the training very useful.
