anyone got a good recipe for deer roast, tired of the same old crock pot and potatoes
thanks

My deer roast is also made in a crock pot.
1 venison roast
6 peeled potatoes
1 lb carrots peeled
1 lg onion chopped
1 can stewed tomatoes
1 lb fresh mushrooms
1 can beef broth
1 can water
salt & pepper

remove all fat and silver skin from meat.Cook on low all day.

Best deer roast recipe:

3 to 5 lb deer roast
1 packet lipton onion soup
two cans cheddar cheese soup

Put all that into a crockpot in the morning and cook on low while you're at work or hunting/ice fishing. When you come home, cook up some fettucini (sp?) noodles, and stir 1/2 pint of sour cream into the roast mix. Serve over noodles.

cajun seasoning, lowry's seasoning and slow roasting over the coals. leave the inside a little pink and enjoy with an adult beverage.

otherwise put deer in the pressure cooker, have never had anything better...but am willing to try any other deer receipes! keep 'em coming!

Never tried a crockpot for deer roasts... The best way I know how to cook them is to cut up a garlic clove and poke it down into the roast in several places. Make a mixture of crushed bread crumbs, olive oil, garlic, salt and pepper into a paste and cover the top and sides of the roast with it. Cook it in the oven at 325 F for about 20 minutes per pound. Comes out nice and juicy.
