Nesting Eagles

What a spring it's been! A month ago I seen my first wild Whooping Crane, and now, after all my years in the woods, I've seen my first nesting eagles.:) I realize a lot of folks have seen this before but around my part of the country, it's very rare. I feel blessed that they allowed me a glimpse of their lives this past weekend.
I hope they have a successful year and continue to use this nest for years to come.

Nice pics, Shovel! Here in central Iowa we can see them quite frequently. There's definitely no mistaking an eagle nest. They are about the size of a wash machine! Hopefully they stick around for ya.

That's awesome, Jay! Unfortunately, we've lost 3 individual bald eagles from breeding pairs in the last few weeks. All three to lead poisoning.

Keep following them and send pics when the young are fledging. :way:

Photos after any day now will unfortunately not happen. The farmer is planting his corn this week and I will no longer be able to get to the spot where I took these pics. I could get directly under the nest but I don't want to get that close. I will be watching off and on from a distance though with a spotting scope.
