Desided this spot could be SO good.
Last week I went into this Jungle of 5" tall sweetclover, grasses and real small ash/ boxelder whips and nuked about a 1/4 acre with 10 gallons of water and 2 quarts 41 % gly.
2 days later, I mowed it with a riding lawn mower. (That took about 2 hours) beat the snot out my mower.
Got it down to almost dirt. Lots of thatch.
Went yesterday and lightly roughed up the soil with a small atv cultivator.
Will give it a couple weeks and gly it again then plant oats around labor day.
No time for a soil test and am hoping with all the sweetclover that was there, may be sufficient nitrogen.?
This is back in a VERY secluded riverbottom point.
Bout 80 acres of this stuff. Deer beds galore!
Treestand is 15 yards from where the pics were taken and will have a fresh Aspen post put up in mid September.
Also, may actually try a deer (buck) decoy here.
