Just an update on the ornamental millet saga. Last summer I posted a question if deer will eat millet plants or not. My wife had seen some ornamental millet and wanted to grow some. At 10¢ a feakin seed I didn’t want to spend any money on it if the deer were gonna mow it down.
Well, I “rustled” some ornamental millet seed at the State Fair. I left it in a plastic sack in the house all winter and planted it in the garden next to the sunflowers this spring.
Here is the result:
You can see the sunflowers were stripped and the millet wasn't touched.
