Place to hunt

Does anyone have good public hunting places no one goes to by chariton?

I recently went to the Deer Classic in Des Moines..... was talking with a guy about public land and turkey hunting. He said that a friend of his has heard over a dozen gobblers at a time while hunting the Rathbun Lake area..... claims it is hardly touched for spring turkey season..... I would certainly check this area out.... Good luck
