Regardless of the end use, stands need to be established now! Work continues on various applications for the plant; however, when those applications are realized, establishing switchgrass takes 2-3 years. By starting now and dedicating some marginal land to switchgrass, you can help improve the environment, position yourself to improve the economy in your area, and help decrease our use of fossil fuel.
