Pretty quiet out there...

For all the hype about using rifles this week...it sure has been quiet! I've been hunting with my muzzy and I haven't heard a single shot. I know a few fellas who filled thier landowner tags at the beginning of the Late Antlerless and I did see one group hunting the first weekend. Since then I haven't seen anyone except coyote hunters.
Maybe everyone is waitng until this weekend.
I've been hunting since September when I took my son in the youth season and I have to say I'm starting to get a little "burnt out"

Is everyone going out for one last hurrah this weekend...or already done?

Will be out Friday afternoon and then make plans for Sat & Sun depending on results. Filled one last week, I have two yet and a friend has another one. Checked the 30-06 last Sunday, shooting right on the money.

I've been seeing them moving very late morning and then right at dark. I'm pretty picky at this point, waiting for a doe with fawns or at least close enough to be sure it's not a shed buck. Everything I've seen has just been to far away to be sure.
Your not using a poster of a Yellow ATV to sight in that 06' are you?

I am glad to see in my area that there has been little to no participation in the rifle season.

I'm glad my farm is North of the cut off line! I'd be scared to cut wood or go riding my ATV this weekend.

Our doe season was the first week of Jan. The other day I was talking to the owner of our local locker and he said that out of around 60 antlerless deer brought in 1/4 were shed bucks.

Late doe seasons make me sick!

You must have a very high Buck population in your area, if one out of four deer killed were shed bucks, considering the majority of bucks are still carrying their antlers.

Going out Friday Saturday to fill some tags.52 degrees will be pretty warm.Wish it was like this first season shotgun.Always good to get out anyway.Good luck to everybody this weekend.

and from the looks of the weather report for Saturday...I'd say it may "dampen" any potential weekend onslaught from the big guns

Driving back from the basketball game tonight...it looks like we left plenty for "seed" too!

One small, one medium, one large. So much for a rifle being an advantage- longest shot was 45 yards.
